Accounting Assistant

KTCCU is looking for more than just an employee, we are looking for a true team member dedicated to enhancing the member experience! We are seeking an inspiring, strategic- minded individual to be a part of the accounting department. The account assistant will play a key role of the accounting team by embracing an environment with innovation, collaboration, trust, and professionalism. This individual will focus on efficiency, integrity, and effectiveness. This leader is expected to apply generally accepted accounting principles and abide by NCUA guidelines in conjunction with KTCCU policy and procedures. Ensure and maintain regulatory compliance and staff adherence to all Credit Union policies and procedures. The Accounting Assistant will collaborate with management and provide support for regulatory exams, CPA audits, and support internal audit needs.

Responsible for:

  • Daily operation of all fundamental accounting functions to include, loan/share accounting, accounts payable processing, and prepaid and fixed assets posting.
  • Maintain appropriate systems, processes, records for fixed assets, investments, and accruals.
  • Maintain department procedures and processes to assure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines as well as generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Accounting to interpret financial statements for review by the Board of Directors, executive and line management, and various outside authorities.
  • Interact with both external auditors and regulatory examiners to facilitate the completion of audits and reviews.
  • Complete general reconciliations for accuracy and ensure compliance with General

Ledger Reconciliation Policy.

  • Research and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
  • Assist with budget preparations and financial analyses. Monitor costs and expenses.

Accounting Assistant qualifications:

  • Five – Seven years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting processes and procedures in a financial institution required; Credit Union experience preferred.
  • Experience managing and day to day responsibilities of General Ledgers postings and reconciliation.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, and proprietary software
  • Able to prioritize work according to deadlines and organizational initiatives to produce assigned outcomes
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables
  • Stays informed regarding changes in accounting practices and trends.
  • Proactively supports and advances KTCCU’s brand and culture.
  • Any other duties assigned

Pay: $21.50 - $32.00 per hour
