Title: Accounting Specialist

Reports to: Plant Controller

Essential Functions

• Perform general accounting tasks, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory, and month-end closing.
• Prepare statements and reports.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial audit activities as needed.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to the Plant Controller and CFO.
• Understand the financials of the company to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state of the business in good standing.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Relevant experience and/or education may be substituted for the following qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience using NetSuite or another ERP system a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of AP, AR and maintaining general ledgers.
• Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work with onsite and remote teams.
• Proven ability to organize and prioritize as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Experience with financial systems a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the individual to:

Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach above and/or below the shoulders, handle/grasp documents or office equipment, clearly speak and hear adequately to communicate effectively in-person and/or by phone, use vision sufficiently to read source material as well as use a computer screen for long periods of time, repetitive motion for computer equipment use, the ability to use exertion of force and/or lift up to 25 pounds. Work is performed primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
