Unarmed Security Officer

Six Maritime is seeking individuals with superb interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask to fill our Unarmed Security Officer positions in San Diego, CA. Officers must have solid decision-making skills, the ability to stay focused on goals, an eye for detail, and the ability to interact positively with the public. Officers will assist with the embarkation and debarkation of passengers from cruise ships visiting San Diego. This individual will maintain a high level of situational awareness to support the safe arrival and departure of clients and ensure that their experience is as calm and stress-free as possible. Our Officers will be pleasant and welcoming while ensuring all company policies are followed. We are a Veteran-owned, Veteran friendly company.

Our employees are required to comply with company policies, as well as laws governing security personnel in the State of California, in addition to Federal and Local ordinances within our governing contracts. The following requirements are mandatory and must be on file prior to the date of hire, HOWEVER, for strong applicants, we may offer conditional employment and train you to receive these items if you do not already possess them:

1. California BSIS Guard Card & BSIS Firearm certification

2. Prior to employment, a background check, a drug test, and a weapons evaluation are all required by the US Department of Homeland Security's Terminal Workers Identification Card (TWIC).

Qualifications

• When an emergency arises, be calm and act promptly.

• Learn and apply rules and procedures which are sometimes hard to understand

• Make conclusions based on facts and on your own personal judgment

• Job Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum 2 years security or 1-year law enforcement experience; OR, an equivalent combination

• Close and distance vision

• Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs

• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual aptitude and fine motor skills

• Additional physical, visual, and working requirements: Outdoor weather conditions, Standing for long periods of time, Walking extended distances, Lifting/carrying 6-25 lbs.

• Wet or humid conditions, Near moving or mechanical parts, In high precarious places, With fumes or airborne particles, able to work overtime and irregular hours, Near loud noises, In areas of strong vibration
