Prepress Art Layout Specialist - Graphic Design and Inspection – Work for an industry leader!

Metalcraft, a 72-year strong, employee-owned company headquartered in Mason City, Iowa, is seeking a manufacturing Art Setup professional to join our team.
As a Art set up member, you will prepare, review the artwork for production and customer proofs; clean up artwork and prepare logos for digitizing.

What would I be doing?

• Prepare artwork and proofs, normally provided by our customers, per operating procedures for our products to go to our customers.
• Produce files for production, your attention to detail is definitely needed here!
• Maintain archiving and file system as per operating procedures.
• Maintain proficiency in Checkmate, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Indigo front-end tools, Microsoft Excel, Automation Engine, and ScanMaster Designer.
• Perform routine maintenance as per established procedures.
• Act as floater in areas trained and cross-trained, as necessary.
• Produce quality work in an efficient and timely manner to assist Metalcraft in meeting customer needs.

How will I know I am a potential fit?

• Graphics arts training is not required but recommended. We must stress that you won't be designing logos and graphics, but mostly working to get designs ready for the printing presses.
• Self-motivated, goal-directed, problem-solver with ability to troubleshoot, make decisions and pursue a course of action
• Comfortable with performing a wide range of responsibilities, from thinking broadly to executing detailed tasks
• The ability to work collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives
• A can do, flexible, and collaborative approach with an interest in taking on various additional projects as required
• Above average computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel will be needed for this role.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School including basic English and Math required
• Graphic arts training from an accredited training program preferred but not required
• Graphics knowledge in layout, design, and color highly recommended.

What are the work hours?
7:15 AM to 3:45 PM - other hours may be asked based on need.
