Tennies Ace Hardware is a locally owned and operated chain of hardware stores serving the Washington County communities of West Bend, Kewaskum and Jackson. Position: Nights & Weekends

Primary responsibility for all positions with our company is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. Retail cashiers
are responsible for providing customers with fast and friendly service while processing register transactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Project a positive representation of Tennies Ace Hardware.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Precisely and accurately handle cash, checks and other types of payment received for products sold.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Be knowledgeable and actively participate in all sales promotions and other campaigns.
• Practice suggestive selling and build customer relations.
• Keep checkout areas neat and clean at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties
• Move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds, and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth

While performing the duties of this job, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The associate may work near outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Duties:

• Operate all aspects of the register, including cash and card transactions, scanners, and scales
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for by the end of the shift
• Answer any customer inquiries, and use your knowledge of store layout and product content to give directions as needed
• Assist customers with bagging and carrying products as needed
• Maintain a clean work environment, keeping register clear for incoming customers
• Other duties as requested

Hours per week:

• 10-15 hours per week

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
