Software Engineering Intern for Ship Electrical Systems (SES) group. Candidate will be part of the Ship Integration and Test (SI&T) team supporting the Surface Navy Innovation Center (SNIC) Moorestown, NJ. The mechanical engineering intern will support SNIC engineers by assisting in the modification of engineering/technical environments, via Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), in the support of tasking from NAVSEA, PEO IWS, and MDA representatives. Assist in the Engineering/Technical presentation processes, supporting various shipboard and landbased projects. Position will involve interaction with LM Business Development personnel and Design engineering.

Specific engineering support responsibilities include:

1) Candidate will be exposed to the skills and requirements associated with the development AR/VR environments and the presentation skills required to present these environments to both internal and external stakeholders. Candidate will be assisting in the performance of critical engineering analyses and the execution of equipment arrangement studies. Candidate will support the design of combat system arrangement models in 3-D CAD and convert models into a simulation software package for virtual prototyping. Candidate will work with various CAD systems in converting vendor and shipbuilder information into applicable formats for use in design studies.

2) Candidate will potentially interface with the Navy customer, PMOs, vendors, and other Systems Engineering activities and stakeholders to define virtual system arrangement analysis, identifying functional and maintenance performance envelopes, while also identifying design limitations and risk assessments.

Enrolled in a degree program for Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Familiarity/experience with VR and AR techniques

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
