Position Description:


The Corporate Communications Manager plays a vital role in overseeing brand reputation management and communication activities that bring our story to life. As such this position serves as one of the spokespersons for Allegacy through, not only our good times, but when messages are hard to deliver, which means experience in change and crisis management is essential. This position will need to build strong relationships throughout Allegacys organization and with our local and trade media contacts, as well as existing networks.

With the support of the Corporate Communications Specialist, this position and its team will plan, build, execute and measure communications activities with Allegacy employees, members and the communities it serves through a variety of channels, ensuring Allegacy messages are being heard and understood. This position will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders throughout the organization developing content that helps drive business forward. This role will be responsible for the following:

  • Deliver exceptional member service to every member, every time
  • Own all internal and external communication
  • Develop all written and verbal content for Allegacy, including: speeches, presentations, scripts including video scripts, social media posts, blogs, press releases, position statements, articles, and editorials
  • Build relationships with, and liaison with local media
  • Manage reputation and organizational messaging including acting as the Allegacy spokesperson, leading the communication plan for all change management initiatives and serving as a crisis manager

  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, presentation, problem solving, analytical, organizational, critical thinking and listening skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including experience making group presentations, developing persuasive presentations and employee publications or communications
  • Strong people skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects, be adaptive to critical needs, and share expertise as needed
  • Strong managerial skills with ability to mentor, coach and develop talent
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively and competently handle multiple priorities simultaneously and the flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changes in work objectives, processes, and technologies
  • Generate high levels of quality output in short timeframes
  • Results focused with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Comfort in seeking input from all levels throughout the organization
  • Must be able to support marketing initiatives by working some nights and weekends
  • Some local travel required

Required Education & Experience


Bachelor Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or closely related field; requires

7-10 years related professional experience with a preferred background in a financial services environment. Experience with social media, media relations, Meltwater, Sprout and SharePoint preferred.
