Our Manufacturing Company is Seeking a Corporate Controller to Join Our Team!

Job Summary

This role will partner with the Chief Financial Officer and lead the accounting function at the Company in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Controller will help develop structure and process and will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, leading the month-end close, budgeting, and variance analysis. In addition to the day-to-day accounting, this role will interact with executive leadership and the Board to provide insight supporting the Company’s long - term strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the month-end close functions by preparing journal entries and performing balance sheet and account reconciliations for parent and four plants
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for the executive leadership team and Board of Directors with explanations on key drivers of results
  • Ensure supporting schedules are being maintained monthly for all balance sheet accounts and agree to trial balance
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepare and maintain annual operating and capital budgets and multi-year forecast
  • Enhance functionality of accounting processes in the Company’s Information Technology ERP system
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Responsible for daily cash activities (inclusive of credit facilities) and capital distributions
  • Manage annual financial audit which includes developing audit schedule, ensuring required documentation is prepared in a timely manner, and interacting with the auditors
  • Coordinate tax filings by providing required documentation to CPA firm in a timely manner and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal statutes.
  • Supervise three manager level direct reports.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of accounting and finance with experience leading a finance team
  • CPG accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred

Job Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing and cost accounting in a standard cost system
  • Possess a high level of integrity and dependability, and have a strong sense of urgency with a focus on results while holding others accountable for the same
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments; must demonstrate high Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
  • Extensive experience building reports in Excel and ability to use advanced features to analyze and manipulate data (Pivots, VLOOKUP’s, HLOOKUP’s, If Statements, SQL, etc)
  • Must be strong in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), GAAP and accounting fundamentals
  • Demonstrates a good business sense, knowledge of economic principles, tax rules, financial markets, banking, and risk management
  • Ideally will have experience working for a private equity backed business and understand the pace and the reporting requirements
  • Ability to create short-term tactical solutions as well as develop long-term strategic plans while building the organization to support those plans
  • Capable of being a strategic partner to the CFO and CEO

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
