Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing the long-term social media strategy to increase Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn followers.
• Assist in writing, designing, producing, and distributing marketing email campaigns.
• Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns.
• Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos, and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets.
• Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
• Support the creative team at live and online events.
• Perform social media marketing research.
• Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms.
• Brainstorm and research ideas for original content for advertising and social media campaigns.
• Create compelling graphics to share across social channels.
• Write social media captions that speak to the company's target audience.
• Help create and edit short-form videos.
• Develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
• Assist with photo/video content shoots.
• Ensure the brand message is consistent.
• Adhere to a creative yet consistent design aesthetic that supports the Merkle Retirement Planning brand, visual identity, and messaging standards across all media.
• Confer with team members concerning all aspects of projects, including design expectations, turnaround time, and approvals.

Qualifications:

• Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, or Journalism.
• 1 - 2 years of social media management experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of core marketing and branding concepts.
• Exceptional written and communication skills and ability to interact comfortably with various audiences.
• Strong proofreading skills; must be committed to accuracy.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software and Microsoft Office.
• General knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web content.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Hours/Pay

• 20-30 hours a week with a flexible schedule but must be able to work in the Grimes office.
• $12.00 per hour
• Potential to lead to full-time employment
