Job Description :
Primary Functions: Assists in eliciting business requirements, designing, building and supporting the components of the data warehouse (data models, metadata, ETL). Assist power users in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards to deliver business intelligence to the organization. Assist in developing governance processes around data management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with Business users and domain SMEs to understand requirements.
- Assists in maintaining data models (dimensional models with conformed dimensions, entity relational models), and Data Vault models to satisfy analytics requirements.
- Assist in building ETL processes to load and reconcile data in the warehouse.
- Assists in data mapping activities by specifying logic and business rules for transforming and preparing data.
- Provides assistance and support to the development and publication of reports and dashboards.
- Assists with Data Quality (DQ) and Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives.
- Assists in developing governance processes around data management and the warehouse development.
- Develops knowledge of credit union operations and knowledge of current industry trends as well as current methods and technologies that relate to Data Warehousing, data preparation, data presentation practices and operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Minimum of three years progressive experience in data modeling (dimensional and ER), data vaults, and / or SQL for creating data stores, data marts and data warehouses.
Experience/Skills: Strong oral, written, administrative, organizational and inter-personal skills. The ability to analyze problems, develop alternatives and recommendations. Proficiency in converting analytical requirements into dimensional models (star schema, snowflakes, conformed dimensions, etc.), familiarity with scripting languages (python, PowerShell, etc.). Experience with data base design and loading and reconciling data in a SQL warehouse. Proficiency in SQL and self-service analytics tools such as Excel, Power Pivot, YellowFin, Snowflake, PowerBI, Tableau etc. Proficient in developing SSAS cubes and tabular models and SSRS reports. Familiarity with Visual Studio, TFS and SSIS. Familiarity with Master Data Management, data quality tools, data integration tools, R, and Python is desired. Financial Services experience and familiarity of big data concepts is a plus.
Tenure: Assignment to the Data Warehouse Developer I category 10, Data Warehouse Developer II category 09, Data Warehouse Developer III category 08, or Senior Data Warehouse Developer category 07 will be determined by the candidate's education or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate's certifications and/or performance.
