The Director, Distribution Execution will focus on successfully leading highly complex distribution implementations and design. This role will be recognized as the authority in implementing facilities, systems, and processes that will support ongoing operations and future business growth. This role will ensure the execution of projects necessary to deliver robust, cost-effective supply chain execution capabilities which require a strong emphasis on managing multiple stakeholders and proactive communication. Extensive industry experience, along with the ability to practice judgment to plan and accomplish company goals, will be a priority.

  • Lead sophisticated distribution center implementations, improvements and spearhead the deployment of multiple, complex projects domestically and globally,
  • Maintain alignment across Acushnet Company and client project leaders, stakeholders, and executive sponsors throughout the course of a client program lifecycle or operational performance initiative.
  • Apply superior understanding of supply chain concepts, processes, and trends in the design and implementation of solutions. Define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships of a project team. Mitigate scope, schedule, and cost risks both internally and with clients.
  • Collaborate with the PMO to develop and design change management plans as part of any implementation to ensure smooth, cross-functional project success. Insure project deliverables are handed off to operations teams utilizing an efficient and methodical process.
  • Leverage expert experience and knowledge to evaluate and compare material handling alternatives and technologies.
  • Understand specific capabilities within complex supply chain applications and leverage advanced knowledge to assist with design and implementation efforts.
  • Drive innovation related to the conceptualization of new, and improved tools, templates, and methodologies.
  • Vet, acquire, and manage external consulting resources as necessary to execute assigned projects. Ensure vendor contract performance is monitored and delivers expected results as agreed in relevant contracts. Manage vendor service budgets and negotiate resolution to any performance/cost issues.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Multiple years of significant Supply Chain project management and/or operations leadership substitute for the preferred major field of study.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience with a focus on Operations/Supply Chain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate others, to direct activity from a position of informal influence, to negotiate conflict situations, and to forge consensus between competing points of view.
  • Proven ability to provide senior level management of a portfolio of supply chain execution projects across multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Experience with Distribution operations site startup.
  • Proven ability to translate FSD and business requirements into detailed solution implementation roadmap covering physical layouts, storage/material handling equipment requirements, System integration/configuration specifications, and process flow documentation.
  • Previous Project Management Experience with warehouse management systems and business intelligence.
