Summary:
This entry level position’s overall objective is to create metal roofing and wall panel installation drawings to conform to architectural design standards and expectations.
Following an in-office training period, this position will primarily be remote (with occasional in-office meetings).
You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Using a detailed knowledge of the company’s products and standard construction practices to prepare the erection drawings needed for contractor field installation. The preparation of these drawings requires a thorough understanding of the project documents and is responsible for ensuring that completed drawings are fully compliant with project documents.
- Interacting with customers, architects and company staff to resolve any discrepancies.
- Compiling final project bill of material and reconciling with project estimates.
- Analyzing returned drawings after customer review to determine any changes, informing supervisor of changes and modifying drawings to secure final customer approval.
- Assisting customers, architects and company staff with technical or construction questions.
- Maintaining all logs, correspondence and drawing files on drawings prepared.
Job Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will have:
- A 2-year college degree in architectural drafting (CAD) or related field
- Ability to interpret architecture/structural plans and specifications and scale takeoffs
- Experience detailing metal roof and wall panel systems
- Strong math and communication (verbal and written) skills
- General construction knowledge
- Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to apply strong critical thinking skills, a high level of creativity, capability to function effectively in a fast-pace environment – all while providing superior customer service
