Architectural Precast, Inc. (API) is in search of a detail-oriented draftsperson to join the dynamic office team. This position requires some construction knowledge. In addition to the daily drafting requirements, the draftsperson will also assist with project takeoffs and estimating.

Job duties:

-Draft quality shop drawings using contract documents and customer descriptions. When changes are required, update the drawings and resend them to the customer for approval. Excellent communication with customers during the shop drawing phase is critical.

-Draft the individual piece tickets for various products, primarily hollowcore plank. This involves making clear, easy to understand drawings of each individual piece for production to use during the fabrication process. All relevant information needs to be included in the drawings, and all dimensioning needs to be completed in a systematic manner. Communicate with production to make changes to drawings as needed to accommodate unique production practices.

-Any other drafting required, including storage layouts, property drawings and planning, and various projects throughout the plant. The ideal candidate must be willing to work a flexible work week, averaging 40 -50 hours per week. Hours will vary depending on demand.

-Work with the estimating department by performing basic takeoffs on projects.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in drafting from technical school preferred or equivalent work/ job knowledge and experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD software (2 years minimum)

Pay: $23.00 - $40.00 per hour
