Driver / Tech

Description: Position reports to the Branch General Manager and/or Supervisor. General duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment
• Displaying consistent attention to safety in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations
• Delivery Truck Driver loads the truck and delivers chemicals to the customer location in a safe manner following all laws, company policies, and customer policies
• After arriving to the location, the driver unloads the truck by dropping off totes or pumping chemical off the truck into bulk tanks
• After completing all the deliveries, the driver will do a post trip inspection and remove any empty containers from the delivery truck so that chemicals can be loaded for the next day
• Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher, verifying instructions and routes
• Maintaining logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations
• Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
• May perform minor maintenance to truck and will keep truck clean and washed
• Driving trucks to weigh stations to document weights and to comply with state regulations
• Driver is responsible for forklift operations/ensuring that the load is secured and ensuring that the bills of lading and shipping documents are documented properly
• Transports non-hazardous and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and company safety procedures
• Handling various products, hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Performing industrial work
• Operate and clean equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years truck driving experience
• CDL "Class A" License with the ability to attain a Hazmat endorsement
• Ability to travel and the flexibility to work long hours
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen
• Clean and verifiable driving record and MVR
• HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications
• Must pass Homeland Security background check

• Ability to complete basic job-related paperwork, including time sheets, crew sheets, permits, etc
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including Respiratory Protection
• Ability to work in or around extreme temperatures
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects in excess of 60 lbs
• Ability to kneel, squat, or bend for long durations
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks on wet or slippery work surfaces
• Ability to walk or climb stairs or ladders frequently
• Ability to reach or work overhead frequently
