Summary:

Stoneridge Control Devices develops embedded systems software that enables cutting-edge technologies to be deployed in mobility solutions across the globe. We are seeking an embedded software engineer to develop software for products that will be critical in enabling increased electrification, autonomy, and utility across the automotive space. Our products contribute to reduced emissions, increased safety, and further utility for mobility solutions across the passenger car and commercial markets.

In this role, you will get to see your software product through from inception to application and in use in the marketplace. Responsibilities

• Architect software to effectively meet all project requirements
• Develop detailed embedded software design based on written requirements
• Perform unit testing on compiled software to confirm that it meets quality standards
• Test compiled software with simulation test equipment to confirm performance matches intent
• Document software implementation for ease of maintenance
• Perform rigorous traceability between requirements to implementation to validation
• Active cooperation with global team with maintenance of common software platform
• Work with embedded hardware and application groups through the development phase
• Manage software configuration with global software team
• Apply and configure AutoSAR solution for integration with embedded applications
• Develop common base software implementations for varied microcontrollers to integrate with platform
• Work with customers to address performance gaps with software solutions
• Support customer return analysis activities

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering required
• Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering is seen as beneficial
• 1+ years of Academic engineering experience in software development required
• Experienced in working with software teams in the development of embedded software solutions
• Familiarity with integrated software development environments (IDEs)
• Familiarity with computer languages C, C++, Matlab Script, Python
• Familiarity with low-level and high-level driver development for embedded ECUs
• Familiarity with coding requirements for the microprocessor or ASIC is a benefit
• Familiarity with functional safety (ISO26262/ASPICE) standards
• Familiarity with embedded Real-time Operating Systems
• Familiarity with CAN tools and communications standards such as TCP/UDP
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping tools such as dSPACE, Motohawk, Open-ECU
• Familiarity with Agile (SCRUM/Kanban) software development process
• Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team
• Preference for working in a fast-paced startup environment and working with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work within diverse teams
• Exhibits vision and foresight in testing to the design limits
• Ability to communicate engineering process and decisions via scientific process
• Team focused and service oriented
• Travel as needed, expected to be less than < 20>
