Position Summary
The Emergency Room Technician is a member of the health care team. Assists a health care practitioner with patient care, executes administrative and clinical procedures, and performs duties under the supervision of a health care practitioner or Registered Nurse, to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well being of the patient and family. This position requires a service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of delivering care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of daily routine duties. Performs duties delegated by, and under the supervision of, a health care practitioner. The Charge Nurse/Unit Supervisor provides specific daily instruction. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of routine duties. Decisions regarding patient care or services require the review and approval of the Registered Nurse. This position is expected to be self motivating in the execution of daily routine duties.

Minimum Requirements

• Recent Emergency Department Technician experience required
• MultiCare offers are contingent upon COVID-19 vaccination. The only exemptions/accommodations will be for documented medical history or conditions for which COVID immunization is contraindicated or religious/strongly held personal beliefs.

Education/Licenses/Certifications

• Current Washington state licensure as a CNA, NA-R, MA-C, or successful completion of EMT Training Course (EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 90 days of hire)
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible (Must complete education within 60 days and apply within 7 days of education completion. MA-Cs not required to obtain MA-P)
