Job Title: Field Rater & Energy Modeler – Green Building Consulting

Key Activities

• Conduct progress inspections and performance testing at multifamily housing construction sites.
• Work with green building programs such as Energy Star, LEED for Homes, Enterprise Green Communities, and Passive House.
• Communicate program guidelines, requirements, and desired outcomes to clients and contractors.
• Prepare energy models for multifamily apartment units to estimate energy use, guide decision making, and issue certifications.
• Work with architects and developers to develop building plans with an eye for sustainability to meet various energy efficiency and green building programs.

Minimum Requirements

• 3 years work experience with HVAC systems, construction or degree in construction management.
• Able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Able to independently prioritize and maintain a schedule with construction timelines considered.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Customer-focused communication style.
• Willing to continue learning about building science and green building programs.
• Willing to travel to job sites (Overnight travel is rare.)
• Physical Demands: Able to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs. Able to carry 40 lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
