Job Description :

JOB SUMMARY – The HR Manager will lead and manage the day to day operations of the HR department. They will provide coaching and consultative support to leaders and to employees, manage employee relations, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, ensure compliance with all federal, state & locals laws as well as the collective bargaining agreement and will build strong working relationships with leaders and staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Works with management to identify and implement professional development initiatives, workforce succession planning and development and overall staff training.

· Handles benefit administration to include enrollment, bill reconciliation and benchmarking.

· Maintain in=depth knowledge of state and federal employment law and legal requirements to mitigate employee relations issues and risk and ensure compliance.

· In partnership with hiring managers, support key strategic hiring plans for the year and manage the recruitment process

· Manages the onboarding and offboarding processes

· Works with management and union regarding employee relation issues and manager coaching and counseling

· Provides HR and CBA policy interpretation and guidance for risk management.

· Keeps updated on new and pending HR legal issues and regulations.

· Coach leaders to effectively provide feedback and help grow people leadership skills

· Works in a collaborative and professional manner with all internal personnel
Responds in a timely manner to operations leaders and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making

· Responsible for the coordination of employee events

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

· PHR or SPHR or specialized HR Training preferred

· Minimum 5 years of professional HR experience, with focus on employee relations, performance management, prior union experience preferred.

· Ability to cultivate strong relationships with diverse and distributed employee population, and to operate in a matrix environment.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

  • Human resources: 5 years (Required)

  • Human Resources certification (Preferred)
