Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the HR department and supporting People departments, such as Recruiting and Training. As part of the People Team, the Human Resources Assistant contributes to the overall team member experience at Mike’s. We value our people and begin each day prioritizing and supporting their success.
The Human Resources Assistant is a full-time, non-exempt position and is paid at an hourly rate within a starting range of $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conducts administrative tasks such as data entry, making/returning phone calls, printing, filing, distributing department mail.
- Performs customer service functions by answering frequently asked applicant and team member questions; and refers more complex questions to senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records and performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Assists with preparation of People department reports and data collection, and reconciliation of benefit statements.
- Documents and maintains HR administrative procedures.
- As needed, reviews and processes entry-level candidate applications, conducts phone interviews/screenings, and provides hiring recommendations.
- Coordinates pre-employment processes such as drug screening and background checks.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Facilitates new hire orientations (at least once a month) and assists with training preparations as needed.
- Oversees or contributes to the planning/execution of engagement initiatives and team member events.
- Occasionally participates in off-site recruitment events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Must have the ability to make photocopies; send/receive mail, scan, and email documents.
- Must be able to work and contribute independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to conduct telephone interviews and effectively present information to an audience.
- Ability to type 60 words a minute.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Must be willing and able to learn Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Administrative training required.
- Two years of relative administrative assistant experience.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to operate a business telephone.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

- Work Location: Mike’s Carwash Support Center, 100 Northeast Drive, Loveland, OH 45140
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Work Environment: Indoor office environment, long periods of sitting in a stationary position.
