Under the clinical supervision of the Department of Psychiatry’s Integrated Behavioral Health service, the Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician will spend 50% of their time in the Center for Infection Diseases (CID) Clinic and 50% of their time in the Center for Sickle Cell Disease.

Hybrid Position 3 days on-site, 2 days remote

The CID practice provides comprehensive services in all areas of infection diseases, with particular expertise in HIV/AIDS. The role of the clinician is to work collaboratively with the Infectious Disease team to ensure that the behavioral health needs of the patients are met. The clinician will have knowledge or experience working with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+, Sexual Health, and Substance Use. The clinician will also support the ReCOVer Long COVID clinic embedded in CID. The ReCOVer clinic provides comprehensive care to patients who have COVID-19 symptoms for more than four weeks after recovering from initial infection. The clinician will provide assessments and behavioral health treatment to patients experiencing behavioral health symptoms secondary to COVID.

The Center for Sickle Cell Disease is the largest Sickle Cell Center in New England caring for adults and children. As an inherited disease, the patients have complex psychosocial needs which stem from chronic medical condition across their lifespan. The clinician will serve as a member of the multidisciplinary Sickle Cell team and collaborate to ensure behavioral health needs of the patients are met.

Clinical responsibilities for all services include, but are not limited to, conducting psychosocial assessments, crisis interventions, leading groups, formulating psychosocial diagnoses and treatment plans, and implementing effective, evidence-based treatments for patients and family members. The clinician will also provide education/teaching regarding behavioral health conditions and treatment to CID, SCD, and ReCover Clinic providers and staff.

Must Haves:

• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
• Preference will be given to candidates with Adult and Pediatric experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in infectious disease
