Overview: Proactively developing and maintaining professional relationships between NorthStar Care Community and its referral sources (hospitals, LTC facilities, physicians, managed-care organizations, independent medical clinics/offices and other health care professionals) in assigned territories, the Lead Advisor is involved in activities that enhance best practice at NorthStar Care Community. Works collaboratively with the departments management team, admissions team and the customer care team. The Lead Advisor is a role model for new and current employees, represents his/her discipline’s perspective and facilitates communication across the Regional Market Operations Group.

Who we are: Hospice of Michigan is a nonprofit organization who serves 54 counties across the state of Michigan. Hospice of Michigan was founded in 1980 by a group of volunteers in Southeastern Michigan, and in 1994 became a statewide organization when it merged with 10 community-based hospices. We provide care for all—regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability to pay.

Essential Functions:

  • Working collaboratively with the Departments management team, admission's team and the customer care team.
  • Extensive contact with all members of the interdisciplinary team and support staff, management and volunteers.
  • Working with advisors along with their internal and external customers within their market operations region.
  • Proactively follow up and interacts with guests, customers and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Represents the perspective o stakeholders including, service lines, geographic areas, members of discipline and patients. Families.
  • Proactively participates as a member of organizational marketing operations team and attends monthly meetings to oversee the development of the Marketing plan.
  • Works collaboratively and actively participates in team functions and meetings.

What you need:

  • Bachelors Degree Required. Concentration in business, health care administration or related field preferred. An associates degree and/or the equivalent amount of progressive work experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of sales/marketing experience required; five (5) years preferred. Possesses at least the equivalent amount of processive work experience may be considered.
  • A licensed registered nurse or other professional with a patient care background that has sales/marketing experience is preferred.
  • Identified by a departmental leader as having excellent overall rating of "meets expectations" on the annual evaluation.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement, effective organizational, follow-through skills, attentional to detail, emotional intelligence and the ability to promote positive, constructive relationships with communication and collaboration at all levels with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to close deals that lead to increased business.
  • Demonstrates expertise in identifying and accessing appropriate external and community support resources.

  • Monday to Friday

  • Grand Rapids, MI: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
