About FixturFab

FixturFab built a design platform that uses generative Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technologies to automate the design of circuit board test fixtures. Customers upload their electrical design files and design test fixtures. FixturFab's vision is to modernize hardware testing.

We're a small startup team with a single-digit number of full-time employees and several contractors. FixturFab is hiring a new team member to help us with improving our current web platform and creating new applications like the following:

• Build on top of our Django web application to improve the customer experience for ordering circuit board test fixtures
• Create Fusion360 and Kicad plugins to help automate mechanical and electrical design processes
• Developing GUI applications for running hardware functional test suites

Responsibilities

You will be the leader of our software development team and architect, build, and deploy various micro-services and software projects.

• Design and develop new features for our Django REST Framework python application
• Write mockups, documentation, and API endpoints for a small frontend development team
• Help develop a test framework that integrates with the design platform and custom hardware test systems
• Learn how to use and integrate generative Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools into our software
• Work directly with the founders to improve engineering and manufacturing processes

Qualifications

Ideally, you have a combination of the following experiences.

• You are a python, and in general, an expert backend developer
• You have designed and developed multiple backend software projects
• You’ve written and integrated APIs
• You are collaborative, yet self-directed
• Strong communication skills and comfortable working in a remote environment
• Passion for building cool things

Nice to have

• You have led a team of developers
• You have experience with frontend/fullstack development
• You have created electronics projects such as using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other development boards
• You have firmware experience
• You are familiar with an electronics design package, like KiCAD or Altium
• You are familiar with a mechanical design package, like Fusion360 or Solidworks
• You are familiar with basic data-science and machine learning libraries

Interview Process

Initial 30-minute screen on Google Hangouts.

• We'll describe the position, ask questions about your experience, and answer your questions.

If this initial screen goes well, we'll schedule a follow-up, hour-long technical interview a few days later.

• We'll provide a description for a simple project to to bring to the interview to review. Then ask final questions about your experience and what you are looking for in a job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
