Job Summary

Valet attendants are responsible for parking and retrieval of residents and guest’s vehicle. Before taking the vehicle, the valet assesses and documents any vehicle damage. This is to protect the valet and The Plaza from being responsible for car damages he/she has not committed. Also responsible for welcoming residents, assisting with luggage, providing directions and any other related assistance

Education and Experience
High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)

Primary Job Duties

  • Assist owners and guests with open and closing vehicle doors.
  • Able to communicate parking procedures to new owners and guest.
  • Park and retrieve cars for residents without causing damage to the vehicle. Assist residents or guests with their luggage/packages/groceries/etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining the security of vehicles by proper key control.
  • Document and report all vehicle incidents, like damages, accidents, theft, missing articles etc.
  • Re-route traffic to commercial garage when parking facility reaches maximum capacity and ensure other staff are informed.
  • Ensure vehicles are legally parked and to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of traffic in the garage.
  • Manage the valet and parking area, organize vehicles, (cones, barricades, directing traffic), etc.
  • Protect cars, and perform basic car service such as jump starting a car, putting air in tires etc.
  • When needed, maintain cleanliness of The Plaza grounds areas at all time. Pick up debris from driveway, make sure storage areas are clean and presentable, and all equipment is in working order.
  • Promptly answer telephone calls using positive and clear communication.
  • The ability to remember names and apt numbers of residents and their pets and of course the cars they own.
  • Responsible to report security or safety problems, safety hazards and potential problems to your supervisors.
  • Monitor KIPSU for vehicle requests.

  • Driver’s License -A valid driver’s license in good standing (No DUI’s or reckless driving violations)

Must have experience in driving cars with manual transmissions and must be comfortable driving all types of vehicles.

  • Time Management- Managing one's own time.
  • Communication -Must also be able to communicate efficiently in English, answer residents’ inquiries, and greet the guests in a friendly and accommodating manner. Must have self-confidence and can easily relate to people, even when dealing with angry or impatient residents or guests
  • Physical Demand - The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Having the physical agility to stand or sit for long hours is another requirement. He must be able to walk and run long and short distances. All valet attendants should be prepared to work under all weather conditions as well as work for extended periods.
  • Grooming - All employees must be neat, clean and well groomed.
  • Availability - Must be available to work flexible full-time hours including weekend & holidays, and special events.
