Job Description :

The pay range for this position is expected to be $20.00 per hour, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors

Position Objective:

See’s Candies is looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Intern to effectively support Marketing operations under the supervision of a Marketing Manager. As the Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to real marketing strategies and campaigns, conduct research, produce customer-facing content and Marketing collateral, and gain an excellent baseline of knowledge in all Marketing areas: Creative, Email, Social Media and Public Relations.


You will work in the South San Francisco office four days a week (Monday-Thursday) and virtually on Fridays. Start and end date are flexible based on University schedule. The internship will last 8 - 12 weeks.


Our ideal internship candidates are self-motivated, ambitious, and detail-oriented.


Position Responsibilities:


General Marketing

  • Develop robust competitive analysis report that includes research and data from all marketing areas
  • Ideate and develop a campaign idea that includes an Email, Social Media and PR strategy
  • Organize findings and insights for final presentation to leadership at the end of the internship program
  • Perform special projects as assigned by management

Creative

  • Support maintenance of digital asset management database
  • Organize physical asset archives and conversion to digital formats
  • Update and maintain department process documentation

Email

  • Contribute to email strategy, campaign ideas, and evergreen content
  • Write email briefs
  • Review email creative/copy for accuracy and brand consistency
  • Assist in updating marketing calendar with email content and results
  • Conduct market research on competitor email strategy
  • Gain foundational knowledge of Google Analytics

Social Media

  • Attend and contribute to content planning meetings
  • Assist with community engagement on social channels and engage with relevant hashtags and UGC
  • Conduct research on current social media trends; present content and influencer opportunities as they arise
  • Assist team members with the creation of content for Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, and TikTok
  • Assist in reporting weekly social media metrics

Public Relations

  • Draft pitches, press releases, and key messaging documents
  • Build media lists on Cision and Muck Rack
  • Assist in VIP mailers to celebrities, influencers, and media
  • Monitor trends and food news
  • Participate in media outreach
  • Monitor media coverage and summarize into a weekly report
  • Assist with event planning and logistics (Grand Openings, media events, etc.)

Job Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Familiar with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Preferred:

  • Past internships in Marketing
  • Previous experience with use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro) and social media management tools
  • Portfolio of past projects/campaigns worked on
