Provide positive, courteous customer service while assisting referring clinics and patients with their requests to schedule an office visit.

Essential responsibilities

Answers phone calls with proper telephone etiquette, incoming calls to schedule patient appointments from referring clinics, perform all necessary paperwork (i.e. new patient packet and registration, referrals, health history and other questionnaires necessary), contact the patient’s insurance company to confirm that the patient has insurance coverage including network benefits, insurance verifications, knowledge of the many restrictions and requirements of all of the payers in the market, make outbound calls to schedule patients who have been referred to our office, contact patients to re-schedule appointments when needed, performs registration for all patients, performs registration for all patients, back up front desk, performs other duties as assigned

A high school diploma or GED is required. In addition, candidates should have two to three years of medical office experience in a medical office setting. Must be patient/customer service focused and be able to carefully manage sensitive and confidential information. Proficiency in MS Office and other medical databases required. Must be able to multi task.

Experience in a medical office setting with previous receptionist and patient services experience
