WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are currently seeking to hire a Staff Scientist in our Sheridan, Wyoming office. The Staff Scientist will participate on project teams assisting our project managers and task leads on natural resource assessment, analysis, reporting, and data collection. The position is full-time and primarily office based with requirements for occasional travel for project and client meetings. However, some field work will be required to coordinate or lead biological surveys dependent on project needs and individual skillset.

Projects and duties include:

● Work with a project team on resource assessment and permitting that meets clients' needs and regulatory frameworks.

● Conduct natural resource studies and prepare technical reports to meet regulatory or client requirements.

● Assist project managers and task leads with field team coordination, quality control, data analysis, and project management.

● Lead field surveys, following established survey protocols for wildlife, vegetation, and wetlands, as needed and applicable.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Applicants must have:

● Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or applicable field.

● Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in biological surveys and natural resource management.

● Preferred experience working in consulting or resource professional teams.

● Preferred experience working in the Northern Great Plains, Rocky Mountains, and Intermountain

West, including identification of fauna, flora, ecological assemblages, wetlands, and soils.

● Excellent communication and organization skills, strong technical writing skills, and familiarity with Word, Excel, and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).

● Ability to travel and occasionally do fieldwork and site visits.

● A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.

● A valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with experience driving 4x4 pickup trucks, ATVs, and UTVs

● A commitment to High Standards in Safety

● Ability to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol test
