Job Responsibilities

The Network Specialists assists the supervisor for Thin Air Communications Inc.’s VLAN wired/wireless networking equipment and microwave communication systems. As an assistant to the network supervisor, you will perform daily programming services. We require you have a basic understanding and some experience about communication networking and knowledge of IP’s, Gateways, Subnets and Routing Systems along with camera systems and microwave networking. Your ability to verbalize and communicate concepts and troubleshoot issues with the supervisor and crew is a plus.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

• Field experience with basic networking knowledge of IPs, Gateways, Subnets, and Routing.
• Programming radios, switches, firewalls, performing field service, installing, and integrating new or replacement network gear on-site.
• Ability to perform basic DC wiring, and circuit knowledge is key in this job.
• Fortinet experience is preferred, or at a minimum switch, firewall setup, programming, and CISCO experience is desirable.
• VLAN knowledge is a plus and an aptitude to work with microwave communication equipment is strongly preferred.
• Working with RF infrastructure technologies includes setup and integration of Verkada, Hanwah, Axis or Avigilon camera systems.
• A basic knowledge of Mimosa programming and OSPF microwave networking is essential.
• Must have excellent communications skills as a professional appearance.
• Must be a US citizen.
• This position requires travel to local site. Occasionally, work may require overnight stays away from home as business travel.

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school education
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Valid driver's license and good driving record with reliable transportation
• Some travel is required
