Opportunity available for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Cardiology team.

With practice sites in Rome, Calhoun and Centre, AL, this position will join our team of providers who support patients both in clinic and hospital in the areas served.

Job Duties:

• See patients in clinic 4 ½ days per week
• See patients at the hospital ½ day per week
• Clinic hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Rotate one weekend per month Sat. & Sun - 8 am to 1 pm (or as patient needs dictate) a day off is scheduled the week after weekend rounds
• Documentation to be completed within 24 to 48 hours of seeing patients
• Work schedule is subject to change to respond to demands and efficiencies needed for the practice

Scope of practice:

• Effectively identify, evaluate and address prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease
• Collaborate with medical team, ensuring the safety of patients when indicated
• Demonstrate proficiency in EKG interpretation, heart monitors, labs & other related cardiac testing (training provided for EKG if necessary)
• Understand cardiac diseases, treatments, procedures, including familiarity with cardiac medication
• Maintain accurate and update medical records in accordance with clinic policy
• Provide education to patients and families
• Assist staff with patient issues, tasks, emergencies
• Maintain current educational/credentialing/certification requirements
