We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner for our Norfolk City Jail to join a diverse team who brings knowledge and skills from a variety of backgrounds. Our healthcare providers have autonomy when caring for patients and use strong assessment skills to quickly identify risk factors and provide quality patient care.

What You'll Do:

Healthcare providers support and assist with patient care for the residents in the facility.

• Demonstrate knowledge and performs tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures; supports philosophy, objective and goals of the medical unit.
• Accept staffing assignments and performs other related duties as required.
• Promote quality assurance standards through thoroughness and completeness of tasks.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, medical personnel and corrections staff.
• Respect dignity and confidentiality of patient.
• Promote good working relationships among staff and between other disciplines and departments.
• Provide leadership to other staff.
• Promote excellence in patient care.
• Assume individual accountability for own conduct and maintenance of professional appearance.
• Participate in medical activities in corrections which promote the growth and development of medical professional staff and/or patient care.
• Approach changes in a positive manner, motivate staff to work as a team, accept constructive criticism and learn from it.

What We Require:

• Completion of an accredited nursing program (LPN, RN, etc.)
• Active state/commonwealth license (LPN, RN, etc.)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Criminal background check, Security Clearance and Drug Screening
