To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success in managing multiple departments for maximum productivity. This person will be highly skilled in human resources, finance, and IT management and be able to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the operations team. The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the overall operations. This role is to effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue and technical productivity and promote high-quality customer satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations.

Objectives of this role

  • Maintain consistent communication with upper management, managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the company.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols.
  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity.
  • Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.
  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed.
  • Know the financial health of each department through reporting, and monthly meetings with managers and upper management.

Responsibilities

  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including problem resolution, big-picture mentality, and growth and marketing ideas.
  • Empowers managers to be responsible for achievement of productivity targets, reduction of cost per unit, elimination of errors, and delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Plays a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
  • Oversees operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities for improvement or revision.
  • Establishes the overall vision and direction for the implementation of the internal operations.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to improve proprietary tools and systems.
  • Works closely with safety departments to ensure that activities remain compliant.
  • Collaborates with other team members to ensure seamless business execution, reinforce positive morale, and uphold company values.
  • High level oversite of budget review and monitoring with managers of the department P&L’s.
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
  • Monitor departmental performance and financial requirements against goals and budgets to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective action is taken if necessary. Further develops strategies for improving financial performance.
  • Meets regularly with department managers; facilitate resolution of issues/problems between business units and/or departments.
  • Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of each department.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management of departmental employees.
  • Manage the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers.
  • Handle inquiries and complaints which are escalated from the departments and present options to solve issues of concern.
  • Examines reports to determine the operational activities of the company and ensure optimum performance.
  • Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop policies & procedures related to facilities use, operations and services.
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • Expertise in all aspects of business operations including customer service, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and generation of ideas, development and implementation of proposals for improved services, efficiencies and revenue generation.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to take initiative and multitask accounting, strategic planning, human resources and general management.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Education, Experience, Preferred skills and Qualifications

  • Two or more years of proven success in an operations management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of management software programs, including Google Workspace Platform, Xero, ADP, and Monday.com.
  • Knowledge of Social Media Marketing to improve brand awareness and cross promotional strategies for the company.
  • Strong IT skills, including database development.
  • Multiple years of financial and account reporting experience.
  • Strong skills in budget development and oversight.
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of operations and customer service.
  • Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
  • Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications.

Working Hours and Benefits

  • Salaried position with competitive benefits package including health, vision, dental and HSA.
  • Mobility outside of the office visiting different business units as needed.
  • Hybrid flexible office.
  • Travel required within 40 miles, with travel expense reimbursed.
  • Ability to attend and conduct meetings.
  • Manual dexterity required using desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 40 lbs. may be required
