Job Description :

Oklahoma City based general contractor is seeking a Construction Operations Manager.

Federal construction experience required

Summary

The Construction Operations Manager is responsible for directing all aspects of the Operations Department in our Midwest City office as well as the covered geographical area.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to,

  • Oversee and manage Operations Personnel including Project Managers, Quality Control Managers, Safety Officers, and Field personnel.
  • Oversee, manage, and participate in contract procurement, estimating, and bidding.
  • Develop lasting customer relationships.
  • Manage individual projects as required.
  • Participate as necessary in contract and change order negotiations.
  • Ensure company operations are profitable while mitigating exposure to risk.
  • Responsible for conducting systems and project checks as part of project reviews, assessing and reporting on performance trends and setting objectives for lasting improvement beyond the specific project.
  • Develop and refine company policies and procedures in conjunction with other directors as necessary.
  • Review and maintain adequate staffing to accomplish company objectives.
  • Assignment of resources and equipment to ensure company objectives and requirements are met.
  • Maintain communication with customers to ensure satisfaction with company performance.
  • Assess risk and profitability in selecting projects for bidding.
  • Attend pre-proposal/pre-bid project site visits.
  • Analyze requirements and provide oversight to ensure that all proposals meet requirements.
  • Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Develop and Maintain subcontractor and vender relationships.
  • Inspect job sites to insure compliance with company polices and contract compliance.

Qualifications

  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions in difficult situations.
  • Proficient in the following programs:
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Project
  • Primavera P6
  • Procore
  • SmartBid
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential problems proactively.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering or Architecture and 10 years experience in construction operations and/or construction management. 15 years continuous experience in construction operations and/or construction management in lieu of degree.

Experience & Education Preferences

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Business or related field.
  • 15 years of experience in government contracting.
  • Experience performing multi-year IDIQ government contracts e.g. MATOC, SATOC, MACC, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone and other commonly used business-related items.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions such as cold, heat and humidity on a daily basis.
  • Lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
  • Standing, climbing, bending and stooping are required on a regular, daily basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Federal Construction: 5 years (Required)
  • Construction Management: 5 years (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
