Outside Sales Representative

We are seeking a confident and focused Outside Sales Representative to join the T&D Metal Products team! The ideal candidate is an energetic representative who has a passion for making valuable connections with existing and potential customers in the areas we serve.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Continually grow new and existing partnerships to meet corporate sales growth goals.
  • Build and sustain long-lasting relationships with new and existing partners communicating regularly, providing solutions as needed, and overseeing all account activity.
  • Utilize latest technologies to engage current and new partnerships in today's world of new normal.
  • Travel to conduct face-to-face meetings as needed.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all leads, partner accounts, and sales.
  • Collaboration with all internal departments on new project and partnership launches as well as to resolve issues that may arise.

Competencies

  • Strong phone presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Office preferred, along with CRM applications.

Education and/or Experience

  • 3 years previous outside sales experience
  • Outside sales experience in manufacturing, industrial sales, especially metalworking industries or similar environment strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or related business area preferred, consideration given to successful progressive experience

Customers often consider you a friend and rely on you to educate them on new and innovative product offerings and solutions.
  • You are not easily shaken. You have thick skin and can overcome objection by providing clear value and quality for customers. You are motivated by “no” and often find yourself innovating and adapting within the sales environment to achieve your goals.
  • The status quo is not good enough for you. You consider yourself extremely ambitious and stop at nothing to achieve your professional goals. You are hungry to grow and learn and are determined to provide business value through your contributions. You often look at sales goals as a starting point and find yourself surpassing the minimum expectations.
  • You have worked in an industrial sales or similar industry role for at least 3 years. You have in depth experience providing value through highly skilled sales techniques.
