Working in our manufacturing plants, our Production associates are vital to the success of our business. Your role will be to ensure our products maintain the high level of quality our customers expect. At Associated Materials, we believe excellent results begin with you!

Our West Salem plant is looking for dependable, hardworking associates.

Days and evening are available: 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM

What you should know about our Production positions?

• We work 12 hour rotating shifts- 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off
• You must be able to work weekends due to the rotating shift, and the mandatory overtime, but don’t worry you will be paid time-and-a-half for that OT!
• You will work in a ‘safety-first’ environment in which everyone is required to maintain our safety standards, without exception
• Like to go to work, and have perfect attendance? Great! You will be rewarded with a quarterly bonus up to $150
• After 90 days you will be provided a $200 shoe allowance
• We provide all your PPE
• You will be trained
• There is opportunity for growth into many areas of the plant including shipping & receiving, blending, tool & die, as well as Supervisory roles

What will you be doing?

• Inspect and package product
• Use material handling equipment to bring and remove materials needed to run the products
• Record and label all finished goods, move completed bundles to inventory areas
• Maintain hopper levels on materials not conveyed from silos
• Ensure a quality part is being packaged -visual inspection (before product is put on rack)-gauge and templates (hourly)-length check – In accordance with Gage and Inspection sheet requirements
• Report any nonconformance/issues to supervisor and/or quality department
• Complete check List (hourly)- Ensure felt is properly inserted into product and proper felt is being used (call at roll change)-Shoot felt into product at roll change and roll out)
• Cut up non-conforming product that has been packed
• Sort and repack customer returns
• Any other quality requirements that are developed during continuous improvement efforts
• Responsible for housekeeping of their line and general area. This includes emptying the dust collector bags on the saws, cleaning out the saw, sweeping the floor, etc
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs with or without accommodation. Push/pull up to 25lbs
• Any other miscellaneous duties as determined by the supervisor
