Our established, expanding, collaborative Architecture & Interior Design Department is seeking to add a Project Manager/Project Architect to its multi-talented, inclusive, supportive team. This dynamic, creative, enthusiastic, goal-oriented candidate with intensive Revit designing experience, will be working alongside the Senior Architect, Project Manager, Project Coordinators and Professional Partners on a variety of recreational, educational, commercial, industrial, and government projects. The Candidate will be an integral part of our Design Team that works collaboratively and intently to cultivate thoughtful processes with our client’s involvement thru all project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting, bidding and construction administration with sustainable, diverse designs that exceeds expectations.

Role Description
The Project Architect / Project Manager provides architectural and design project management and leadership from project inception and schematic design thru detailed design and completion of permit and construction drawings for a variety of industrial, aviation, municipal, and corporate, and commercial projects. Through detailed reviews and management, the Project Manager identifies existing site conditions and evaluates constructability risks, reviews program, and identifies space planning and code conformance requirements, and ensures these recommendations are reflected throughout the development of design, permitting, and construction sets in close collaboration with design and construction leadership.

This role has the ultimate responsibility for the architectural and design output, coordination with the internal design team, production teams, and outside engineering disciplines through documented processes using established QA/QC checklists, and for careful review of check sets to verify Ahrens standards and client requirements are being strictly followed to ensure successful construction outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of great client experiences for Ahrens Companies commercial projects through acquisition, design, and construction
  • Support design and construction leadership and designers in client meetings and communications as the technical and project lead
  • Manage production of high quality and detail-oriented progress, permit, final and as built permit and construction drawings in coordination with multiple internal teams and outside disciplines while conforming to Ahrens Companies’ presentation standards and QA/QC checklist compliance
  • Provide assistance and guidance as needed to the Ahrens Companies’ internal construction team to review and assess unforeseen project conditions and address RFI’s quickly and accurately
  • Manage project team and deliverables
  • Manage client relations thru project delivery and construction administration
  • Assist in developing the project budget and estimated hours
  • Plan, schedule and manage the production drawing process and coordinate with consultants and other disciplines
  • Manage drawing development including detailing, quality control and overseeing production teams
  • Evaluate code compliance
  • Manage and enforce deliverable expectations, and ensure client and team understanding of milestone dates
  • Develop permit and construction documents independently and collaboratively with leadership
  • Work with City, County, State agencies for zoning and approvals
  • Manage several concurrent projects in different phases
  • Communicate with a variety of design team members to ensure documents are complete and accurate
  • Provide support for continuous Revit template, family, and detail library improvements
  • Provide process support for continuous operational improvements
  • Achieve project success as measured by client and team satisfaction while achieving financial goals.
  • Attend professional conference, association, and trade shows

Skills and Qualifications
· 10 years Commercial architecture experience with minimum 2 years of Project Management experience

· Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, design, or construction manager preferred

· Knowledge of sustainable principles and LEED accreditation a plus

· Knowledge and experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings a plus

· NCARB, AIA, IDICQ, or professional registration a plus

· Thorough knowledge or the ability to research accurately Florida Building Codes, ADA, NFPA, and Zoning codes

· Knowledge of construction costs and time frame impacts in coordination with design

· Strong design and technical skills

· Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills

· Ability to manage teams effectively and meet schedules

· Ability to balance the needs of projects with the goals of Ahrens Companies

· Ability to build client relationships that foster trust and confidence

· Excellent time management and organization skills

· Advance proficiency in Revit with experience in BIM360, Autodesk Construction, Procore, Microsoft Office Suites, Zoho Projects or similar, AutoCAD, Lumion, Enscape, Microsoft Office Suites

· Self-motivated, creative thinker with the ability to make decisions quickly and handle and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently

· Take “ownership” of given assignments and self-direct

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
