Position Summary:

The Purchasing Intern will assist the Purchasing department across a wide range of activities related to preparing and managing purchase orders, working across multiple vendors to manage product deliveries, and assisting with invoicing and purchase requests. The individual will gain a better understanding of the role of purchasing within the organization which will aid in their professional growth and development.

Pay Rate: $17.00 hourly

Role Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Run daily or weekly purchasing department reports. Review and process purchasing requisitions and invoices from requisitioners/departments. Prepare and release vendor purchase orders using the non-inventory and inventory purchasing systems. Manually enter purchase orders on some supplier sites. Follow up on open purchase orders, recording notes and completing updates. Work with vendors to confirm lead times, inventory availability and shortages. Complete sku setup and or updates. Data, system and or information updates. Assist in completing forms and or agreements. Performs related job duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor’s degree program.
• 1-3 years’ work experience.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel.
• Minimal Travel to corporate office in Burr Ridge, IL.
• On-Site (Hybrid after training possible).
• Must live within 15 miles from Bolingbrook, IL.
