We are looking for a QMHP for the Buncombe County Detention Center.

What You'll Do:

• Oversee the day-to-day mental health care operations in a regional jail with an average daily population of 500-600 inmates

• Make rounds in intake and housing units to check on patients’ needs and overall wellbeing

• Serve the challenging forensic population of all cultural, spiritual, and economic backgrounds

• Collaborate with excellent nursing and security staff support

• Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record

• Share liability for patient care and ensure patient needs are met

• Receive orientation, training, and oversight by the Corporate Mental Health Director

• Other duties as assigned

What We Require:

• QMHP License (preferably QMHP – A)

• Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science Field from an Accredited College or University

• At least five years of experience working with persons with mental illness and addiction.

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Criminal background check, security clearance, and drug screening
