The Registered Professional Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, recognizing total patient needs. Education of the patient is a major focus through formal groups, informal counseling and education of the patient/family/significant support system. The professional nurse initiates nursing orders and implements physician’s orders using clinical judgment.
