JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Algorithms, Prototyping, and Integration Department of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking highly motivated undergraduate students for an engineering internship to help research and develop quality software and algorithmic solutions to our sponsor’s complex problems as either software engineers or data scientists.
Data Scientist
- Duties will include researching and developing feasible algorithmic solutions to given large sets of multivariate data.
- Specifically, you will be engaged in machine learning based analytic research and development of large multivariate data sets.
- Data Science candidates should have experience in large data and machine learning languages/technologies such as R, Python, TensorFlow, Keras, Spark, Hadoop, NiFi or equivalents.
Students studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Data Science are encouraged to apply.
Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
Although this is a summer position, there may be an opportunity to start prior to the summer semester and continue into the fall semester. The successful candidates will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer.
You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
