Who we are and what we do:

Hamilton Marine is the largest marine store in New England. It was started 45 years ago in Wayne and Loraine Hamilton’s Searsport garage. Hamilton marine has grown to six locations throughout the state of Maine, with stores in Searsport, Portland, Rockland, Southwest Harbor, Jonesport and Kittery. We sell to boat builders, recreational boaters, commercial fishermen, divers, and industrial mariners.

Close to 200 people are employed among the six stores. Dress is casual, the atmosphere is friendly and family-like, and the work is diversified and demanding. Customers, who share our interest in boats and things marine, can shop in our stores, from our 376-page catalog, and through our Internet Store. Our catalog is sent all over the world.

Most job duties fall within departments: Store, Administrative and Support Operations. However, every employee has the opportunity to work in any department as well as other Hamilton Marine locations on a temporary basis. Our people go where the business needs them.

Hamilton Marine is hiring for a Full-time Sales Associate!

Job Summary: Retail Sales workers in our retail locations support our stores in many ways, from keeping the shelves stocked with product to assisting our customers with a variety of needs. The work can be fast paced and if you enjoy helping people and working on a team, this is the place for you! Customers Come First is our #1 company value and a friendly, positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer service is a must. Compensation for this year round role starts at $16 per hour and includes a rich benefit package.

• Willingness to learn about Marine, Commercial Fishing and Boatbuilding products

Qualified Sales candidates should be self motivated, wiling to learn, and excited to grow along with our company. The right person for this job must be able to:

• Stand and walk for 8 or more hours per day
• Lift and carry 50+ lbs
• Perform continuous lift/carry/push/pull of heavy and awkward items

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
