The Security team provides security, information, directions and escort service to patients and staff as needed, while adhering to policies and regulations regarding safety. As Security Officers patrol Samuel Mahelona Momorial Hospital & Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital propeties, they are often the first to meet and greet our clients, which positions the community’s experience at our facility in a positive way. The Security team plays a vital role in creating a sense of safety and security throughout our hospitals, which is important to our patients and their families.

If you would like to help create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, staff and guests at SMMH/KVMH, you could be the ideal person for this position. Responsibilities include providing protection and security for facility personnel, patients, visitors, and property through security and safety patrols, crisis intervention, investigation into minor crimes and accidents, and serving as a visual deterrent to potential problem situations. You will participate in safety programs and provide support to all departments. We are looking for an individual who is dependable and observant, with excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. Current Hawai‘i Security Guard Registration (GDE) license. Current American Heart Association BLS card.

Preferred Qualifications: Hospital security experience.
