Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leads the software and application engineering and development of cloud native docker applications from database to UI. Experience with containerized applications running in a docker container on a Kubernetes (AWS EKS) platform. Ability to architect and use Visio/draw IO to develop / enhance team architecture for DoD Authority to Operate. Components to be developed include a web frontend dashboard application, agent to interface with Kubernetes and perform container scanning, and backend API service. Leads team in direction for software development, software requirements review, design reviews, software engineering, troubleshooting, software testing, and software acceptance testing. Able to review teams merge requests in GitLab/GitHub to approve direction and changes. Able to facilitate and support Pipeline creation for software development. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult software engineering problems associated with government container scanning projects. Mentors’ other developers on the project. The ideal candidate will have experience from the database to the user interface, strong experience with modern containerized web application development practices and technologies as well as building applications with a sound user experience. The candidate will have strong analytical skills, a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The candidate will also require strong debugging skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. Basic Qualifications: AWS cloud native services including but not limited to Lambda and S3 Development experience writing, reviewing, and maintaining software applications using Python, Javascript, and Typescript Familiar with key concerns of software throughout its entire lifecycle Atlassian tools for working within and collaborating within Agile team environments Experience with pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins Modern source code repositories including Gitlab Experience performing code reviews, merge requests and operating in a product owner role Writing CI/CD configuration to ensure automation build and testing of all developed code Developing build automation and usage of dependency management constructs (e.g. Maven) Experience containerizing applications including writing Docker files using secure practices Excellent communication and teamwork skills Demonstrated experience with UI/UX design approaches including SPA and MPA Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap) Experience using a major JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc.) Experience with cyber security tools such as SonarQube or Prisma and how to integrate them into the DevSecOps pipeline Experience with authentication and authentication principals Experience with obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) for software systems Knowledge of DISA STIGs and or CIS Benchmarks Strong debugging skills Great attention to detail Organizational skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWS Experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS or other distributions are fine) Experience with GitLab/GitHub as a repository and/or GitLab CI/CD and/or Jenkins pipelines Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, AWS Dynamo DB) Experience with web servers (e.g. Apache) Experience, reviewing and maintain automated provisioning scripts for AWS services such as Terraform or Ansible for applications
