Tectonic is seeking a full-time Senior Construction Inspector with facility construction experience for an upcoming long-term project within the New Haven, CT area! This is an exciting opportunity for professional growth and advancement within the A/E/C industry!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Senior Construction Inspector will observe work in progress and finished products and perform necessary tests at various project site locations to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications, and will bring non-conformities to the attention of the necessary representatives; they will also verify that construction activities are in compliance with contracts, specifications, and engineering principles. The Senior Construction Inspector will also communicate project-related data with clients, colleagues, and other applicable representatives to clarify project details in regards to the interpretation of plans, specifications, and any special provisions, will track and record the quantities of materials received or used, and will maintain daily construction and inspection logs as required, along with applicable progress reports. The Senior Construction Inspector will also be responsible for maintaining construction safety projects and performing all other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a minimum of 4 years of facility construction experience; experience with facility inspection is preferred; ConnDOT or other DOT experience is desired,
• Must possess HS Diploma or equivalent and maintain one of the following licenses/certifications:
• Valid CT Professional Engineering License;
• BS in Civil Engineering, Construction or similar;
• Valid Certification Building Official;
• Ability to perform quantity and engineering computations, and to read and interpret plans and specifications;
• Understand the fundamentals of necessary inspection codes and requirements in order to carry out testing, and must be detail-oriented;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills;
• Requires a valid, clean driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel to and within project sites for site inspections.
