Seeking a Bedding Sales Representative for West Michigan

Our Serta Mattress location was established in 1913 and has supplied Michigan businesses and retailers for over 100+ years!!! Our business is thriving and we're looking to expand our sales force due to high demand of our superior bedding product.

We are seeking self-motivated and dynamic Western Michigan Sales Representative to drive revenue and support our increasing sales opportunities. Ideal candidate would reside in or near Grand Rapids, Muskegon, or Traverse City

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Communications or Business preferred)
  • Experience in outside sales or with the public is a plus - however, entry level job seekers with a track record of success are encouraged to apply
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be fluent in the MS Office Suite and Internet
  • Willing to work some weekends and holidays

Additionally, self-motivated people who have the determination to overcome obstacles and persevere despite challenges, such as weather, traffic, and rejection are the most successful in this position.

Outside Sales Representative Job Duties

As a Western Michigan Sales Representative for Serta Mattress, you will:

  • Conduct in person business to business sales presentations
  • Build and maintain good customer relationships
  • Meet monthly sales goals
  • Submit regular reports and communicate with your manager
  • Analyze your business and identify opportunities for growth
  • Increase market share within accounts through better selling, increased floor space, superior customer service, and retail sales training
  • Develop strategies with assistance from Director of Sales Strategy to grow business
  • Observe competition impact and strategy deployment in the market and communicate observations to Vice President of Sales
  • Identify new accounts that Serta does not currently do business with and develop a game plan to open.
  • Daily commute throughout Western Michigan to local and national accounts, overnight travel is occasionally required
  • Handle merchandising, marketing, and sales training at national accounts and local accounts
  • Coordinate deliveries and returns with retailer’s warehouse in a timely manner

As an Outside Sales Representative, your territory is a radius up to 250 miles with occasional overnight travel involved.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
