About this role:

As a junior accountant, you will be responsible for payroll, accounts payable, cash applications, and account reconciliations for multiple companies.

What you’ll do:

• Process payroll weekly using Sage 300 CRE.
• Input vendor invoices for payment while ensuring proper general ledger coding.
• Reconcile various Balance Sheet accounts including bank reconciliations and debt payable schedules.
• Leverage banking portal to report cash balances and transactions.
• Understand multiple internal areas including billing, job costing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Prepare schedules to support financial statements.
• File sales and use tax returns monthly.
• Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Keep accounting management abreast of current activities within areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

• 3+ years’ experience as a full charge bookkeeper or accounting clerk in a $10M+ revenue and/or 75+ employee company.
• Understanding of payroll tax filings – 940, 941, W-2, 1095, etc.… a plus.
• Accounting degree a plus.
• Sage 300 experience a plus.
• Solid understanding of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong ability to prioritize and organize workload.
• Excellent ability to work independently.
• Strong initiative and willingness to take on projects in a proactive manner
• Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards.
