Staff Accountant I

Farmers Equipment Company is a full-service agricultural and material handling equipment dealer with locations in both Lynden and Burlington. We currently have an opening for a Staff Accountant I working at our Lynden location.

Primary responsibilities:

• Process month end and quarterly functions for the US divisions and Canadian divisions including bank reconciliations, flooring reconciliations, foreign exchange reconciliation, sales tax preparation and filing, processing accruals and month end journal entries, depreciation, and prepaids.
• Assist in the bookkeeping for five separate business entities.
• Provides select monthly financial data to applicable third parties.
• Run weekly payables report and process payables check run.
• Prepare a variety of monthly and quarterly departmental reports.
• Track sold whole goods and payoff flooring or payables in relation to the sold whole goods.
• Process accounts payable for whole goods and flooring applications.
• Manage the warranty receivables accounts.
• PST & GST returns and management fees for the Canadian division.
• Process quarterly incentive payments and petty cash reconciliation.
• Assist Accounting Specialists with problem solving, answering phones, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Strong accounting analytical skills
• QuickBooks experience
• Minimum one year directly applicable accounting experience
• Strong MS Office skills
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills both in person and by phone
• Works well with interruptions and able to prioritize tasks
