Description of Responsibilities: The Clinical Educator is a professional, registered nurse responsible for all of the training/ educating of the clinical team. The Clinical Educator has accountabilities for the training, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of process, programs and competencies to meet regulatory, accreditation and standards of practice of the clinical team.Reporting Relationship

Responsibilities include the following:

  • On-site and remote responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the DPCS and Clinical Supervisor to provide a process to promote, direct, train and ensure employee orientation, competency and in-service education programs.
  • Serves as a resource for nurses and pharmacists regarding information about home health and home infusion services.
  • Responsible for educating and maintaining aggregate records for employees from onboarding, orientation, competency, initial field visits and eMR training.
  • Ensures initial and annual competencies are completed accurately and timely.
  • Conducts in-service training support in the identification of skills for home health and home infusion therapy services.
  • Acts as resource to personnel in education of clinical procedures
  • Acts as a clinical resource to personnel by maintaining professional, clinical and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal and professional networks and participating in professional organizations or societies.
  • Provides input to assist the DPCS and Clinical Supervisor in the evaluation of organization clinical personnel performance.
  • Assists with patient visits, as needed.
  • Documentation review training and orienting to include assisting quality assurance with chart audits, clinical authorizations review and auditing patient charts for compliance.
  • Adheres to professional and ethical standards of nursing practice.

Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with the state of California and in good working order.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical issues in “layman” terms.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of California and valid CPR certification.
  • Graduate of an NLN accredited professional school of nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, at least one (1) of which is in the area of public health or home care nursing.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards of infusion care.
  • Preferably holds professional certification by Infusion Nursing Society.
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy or home health company is of benefit.
  • Prior experience in a consumer related business is also of benefit.
