JOB DESCRIPTION | Writer/Editor/Communications Specialist (Remote)

LMD—a fast-paced, award-winning, full-service marketing communications agency—seeks an experienced writer, editor, and communications specialist to work on an organizational change management team for a federal agency.

The position plays a key role to oversee our editorial, quality assurance, and content development needs in a fast-paced work environment. You will work with a collaborative team to ensure the quality and accuracy of our communication and training products, and to develop and curate engaging content for our clients’ audiences. Your primary duties will include drafting, editing, proofreading, and quality assurance for editorial work products; content development; and copywriting.

To excel in this role, you will need relevant experience in editing, proofreading, developing editorial workflows, and writing marketing copy and content; as well as excellent organization, interpersonal communication, and time-management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and proofread content for accuracy in grammar, usage, and syntax.
• Copyedit documents for senior leadership for consistency, clarity and authenticity in the voice of the customer.
• Develop and maintain an editorial quality control process
• Develop and manage workflows for creating and editing content.
• Conduct background research as necessary to fact-check content, ensure accuracy, and to inform content development.
• Collaborate to develop audience-focused content aligned with the client’s communications objectives.
• Create PowerPoint presentations for internal audiences to support client meetings or training activities.
• Translate the client’s brand concepts, brand promises, positioning, and key messages into content and copy for a variety of media, including LinkedIn.

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
• 3-7 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to get cleared with a public trust security clearance.
• Expert editorial and proofing skills; ability to develop and enforce content quality assurance standards; outstanding grammar and usage skills.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Eye for detail and commitment to quality and accuracy of written work products.
• Portfolio of relevantsample work—that is, focused on internal communications and external outreach.
• Hands-on, problem solver
• Ability to create PowerPoint documents to communicate to internal audiences.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Federal government experience preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft suite of products to collaborate virtually is a plus.

Job Location(s): This position is remote; Eastern Standard and Central Time Zones Preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
