Accountant (Bookkeeper)

This position will report to the CFO and will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, production and purchase variance analysis, and preparation of annual operating budget. This position offers opportunity for personal and professional growth.

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS HYBRID AND CANDIDDATE MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE TO WATSEKA WHERE THE COMPANY IS LOCATED.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely preparation and presentation of accurate monthly and year-end financial statements.
• Develop and maintain monthly general ledger account analyses.
• Review and explain standard purchase and production cost variances.
• Assistance in the day-to-day accounting functions, including A/P and A/R
• Assist in the accounting operations of divisions and/or subsidiary entities, as they pertain to transaction-processing operations
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and sales tax filings.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing as a plant accountant or related finance position, preferred.
• Familiar with GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access). Excel a must
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the recognition to seek resources as needed.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently on a variety of assignments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
