Job Description :

Rend Lake College seeks a part-time Assistant Teacher for the RLC Foundation Children's Center at the main Ina campus. This individual will: assist lead teachers with the development and delivery of curriculum and appropriate learning activities for young children; maintain regulations in the classroom according to DCFS, ISBE, IDPH, and the State Fire Marshall; adhere to children's center policies and procedures; assist with the coordination of daily activities and delivery of curriculum for the Early Childhood Education instructional program; maintain records for children and center; maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and learning environment. Must have the physical and mental capabilities to work with small children. //Part-time, non-tenure track position.

35 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Early Childhood Education coursework required.
  • Illinois GATEWAYS Infant, Toddler, & Early Childhood Education credentials strongly preferred.
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from an accredited institution strongly preferred.
  • Experience providing child care to children ages 0-5 required.
  • CPR Certification (Infant and Child) or ability to obtain.
  • Illinois Food Handler's License or ability to obtain.
  • Good communication skills.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process.
  • Position is subject to DCFS background check approval process as well.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary $15 per hour
  • 35 hours per week
