Our ideal Bridge Design Engineer will meet the following qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Three to five years’ experience in Bridge Design.
  • Registered P.E., or ability to obtain P.E. within one year.
  • Knowledge of DOT and municipal design criteria and standards.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications, IBC, AISC, ACI
  • Knowledge of structural design software including STAADPRO, Bentley OpenBridge Designer, MDX, and ETCulvert.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, or OpenRoads.
  • Ability to work with and direct technicians and surveyors while coordinating with other professional staff and meeting the needs of clients.
  • Possess a positive attitude and ability to work with diverse teams, all levels of internal management and clients.
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings and specifications and documents.
  • Ability and desire to manage projects as part of career growth.
  • Clean background.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered P.E. in Oklahoma
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma DOT and municipal design criteria and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects.
  • Client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
  • Serve as a project manager and/or project engineer on a range of routine and non-routine design projects.
  • Guide technical staff to reduce designs to working drawings.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Serve as onsite project representative.
  • Utilize computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Perform occasional CAD work.
  • Attend client meetings - days or evenings (evenings being fairly unusual).
  • Responsible for project manager and/or project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
